The National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) recently
awarded “Native Gay Pride,” a Native America Calling radio program,
Third Place for the 2006 Seigenthaler Excellence in Radio Award.
The NLGJA is an organization of journalists, media professionals,

and accurate coverage of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues.
Their Excellence in Journalism Awards were established in 1993 to
recognize and reward excellence in journalism on issues related to the
LGBT community. The Seigenthaler Excellence in Radio Award recognizes
outstanding coverage of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues
in radio.
