University of Minnesota Libraries Present: Randy Burns: 30 Years of Two- Spirit Activism 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2007 Elmer L. Anderson Library Givens Conference Room 222 21st Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55455 Randy Burns, founder of GAI (Gay American Indians) will speak on activism and the GLBT community. As a thirty + year activist in both movements he will address the problems faced by activists who are part of more than one cultural entity. Through his personal history he will discuss the progress made and how individuals can make bridges between communities and movements. Light refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored by: Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence, Office of Equity and Diversity, Circle of Indigenous Nations, Department of American Indian Studies, American Indian Student Cultural Center, Queer Student Cultural Center, GLBT System-Wide Programs Office and 2SPR. |
