Embracing Two Spirit Traditions
with Christoso Apache and Joey Criddle of the Two Spirit SOciety of Denver

Thursday, November 12, 2009
11am - 12:30pm
Jewell Student Center
Lower Level, Room 2325

Native American Two-Spirit traditions embrace gender diversity and have a positive outlook on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. The LGBT community is seen as having the gift of two spirits, both male and female, and transgender individuals are seen as even more sacred because of their physiological embodiment.

As such, Two Spirits have special responsibilities and expectations within their tribes.

Learn more about the original "traditional American values," and the personal and cultural perspectives of "Two Spirits."

Co-hosted by the OQS Diversity Club, Campus Forum, and Intercultural Center, and the Community Outreach Counseling Program/Women's Resource Center.
