Titles
by Ethan Crawley

If humanity did not include its titles we would all be free.
Free from being minorities.
Free from being majority.

Old human ask thy self this question…
Why have you not let go of your title?

Thy title that gives you distinction from the rest.
Thy title that gives you stigma or grandeur.

Is it because you can not let go.
Is it because you are afraid you will be left with nothing.

When thy distinct self as a color.
Of a culture.
From region of this world .
Or part of a religion.
What does thy gain or lose?

Hear thee old man.
Be weary of what distinctions you give yourself.
Because.
When your body sleeps for eternity.
You will no longer have these titles.

Now hear this old man.
Look beyond yourself
To your family humanity.
Stand beside yourself.
Now look.
Do you see beyond this life into the next.
Do you see the past from whence time began.
Or do you see your present state.
Are you alone or with kin?

Old man great wisdom comes.
When thy takes long journeys.
Into the abyss not of the universe.
But into thy self.

Now do your titles matter?
